About Me
A teacher first, always.
I have had an interest in physical activity since I was young. My experience started with playing and later coaching youth sports, and it has consistently centered on assisting individuals in recognizing their potential through movement. As I advanced in my career, developing my education and leadership skills, my enthusiasm for outdoor education has grown into a passion.
My Story
Growing up, sport was my language. It was how I made friends, built confidence, and learned to push through discomfort. When I started teaching, I realized I had the opportunity to give that same experience to others — and I've never looked back.
I earned my B.S. in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland in 2013 and went on to complete my M.Ed. at the University of Alabama in 2021. Along the way I taught high school PE and was a multiple sport head coach, spending most of my time at Waterloo Senior High School, filling many roles before being approached by leadership for an administrative path, which led me to PED 308 before joining SUNY Cortland as a full-time lecturer.
Today, my work sits at the intersection of physical education, mental health, and the outdoor community. I design courses and programs that meet people where they are, challenge them to grow, and leave them with tools they'll carry for life.
What I Stand For
Inclusion
Physical education should be for everyone — regardless of ability, background, or experience. I design for the full spectrum.
Curiosity
The best lessons happen when students are genuinely curious. I create environments where questions are welcomed and exploration is encouraged.
Connection
Movement is inherently social. I use it as a vehicle for building community, trust, and belonging in every setting I work in.
Growth
I believe every student — and every teacher — has more to discover. I model lifelong learning in everything I do.
